Question What is Feng Shui?
Wind and Water is derived from the Mandarin words for Feng Shui. The terms result from Feng Shui is revolving round with the words about Wind and Water. As you may have known, Fengshui is also directly related to the flow of 'Qi' or 'chi' similar to the practice of 'Qigong'. It is said that this ancient Chinese Art of 'Qi' flowing into one's house and with a good orientation for placement of objects or furniture will eventually result with the effects of good or bad for the household. The basic concept of Fengshui is having the energy or 'qi' travelling into your house and settle down to retain Good Fortune, Health & Wealth.

Fengshui is also having a relation with the 'Yin' & 'Yang' that refers to the principle of Heaven and Earth in harmony. Basic idea of Fengshui is to create the element of balancing between both 'Yin' and the 'Yang'. Generally, it is to create the best orientation of your house to avoid bad 'qi' and receive auspicious 'qi' is what Fengshui is about.

Fengshui is divided under the classification of the two schools - 'Form School' and 'Compass School'. If you desire to learn about Feng Shui, then it will always be good to learn either one of the technique first and combine it. It is known that the Form School is the study of the Four Symbolic Animals i.e. Clockwise direction is the Turtle (back), Dragon (left), Phoenix (front) and the Tiger (right). The 'Compass School' has two classifications i.e. one refers to the East / West System or the 8 Mansions and the Flying Stars System. This is specifically comprised of four aspects: House, the Environment, the Person and the Time. Feng Shui is not completed without utilizing all the above conditions. The most accurate diagnostic, Feng Shui analyzes precisely how a house and environment supports the person and duration of the time period affects the house and its occupants.

Do bear this in mind that Feng Shui can be said as a concept of logic and when applying Fengshui in your office or your house, keep yourself in an open thought that it has to have a balance between 'yin' & 'yang'. However, it is said to be very unfortunate that our learning of the ancient Art of Feng Shui is never completed due to the true Master of Feng Shui had never taught his disciples the entire skills.

Yes. Feng Shui to me is quite mystic. But like the saying goes, there is no harm trying as long as I gain the benefits. I am always adventurous when comes to experimenting.

RE: What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui means "the way of wind and water" or "the natural forces of the universe". It aims to help us live in harmony with the world by promoting the flow of positive energy and avoiding negative or destructive energy. Feng-shui is the art and science of understanding the forces of nature in order to design houses and workplaces that blend with the environment instead of clashing with it.
